The squadron is part of the Air Training Corps a national youth organisation linked to the Royal Air Force and trains young men and women (13-18 years) in aviation subjects (flying, gliding), adventurous pursuits (climbing, canoeing, marksmanship), community involvement (marching band, Duke of Edinburgh Award), sport and technical subjets (radio, meteorology, principles of flight).
