Busy Bank Holiday Weekend in ClareThe May Bank Holiday weekend was very busy in Sudbury.  In addition to the usual attractions which Sudbury has to offer, the Sudbury Art Fair was once again organised by the Sudbury Art Club. Open this year over 4 days there was a steady flow of visitors who were able to enjoy the work of the very talented artists, talk to many of them about their work and of course buy paintings too. The Club was delighted with the number of visitors over the long weekend which has helped to re-confirm Sudbury as a centre for a very wide range of artistic endeavour. John Laws was also active on behalf of the community this weekend and organised a troupe of Morris Dancers to perform in the Country Park. The weather was a little subdued at first but once the dancers got going they brightened up the morning and put everyone in a good mood. The troupe came from the Suffolk/Norfolk border and admitted that they were on something of a mystery tour of Suffolk. We were all delighted that they had Sudbury on their itinerary and hope that they will be invited back next year. Date : 04-05-2009 |
